Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit ourJustGiving page.

As most of you know my dearest brother Brian was killed in what can only be called a freak and tragic accident in July 2014. He and Pete were the best of friends and popular regulars at the Castle in Bakewell at weekends.  We all miss him more than we could ever have imagined as he was a great support to us in our lives. Nothing was ever too much trouble and he helped anyone he coulda big hearted man with a big smile to match.

We would never ever have contemplated anything like this had Brian still been here but as we all know life can be cut short and so - I am going to face my ultimate fear and Pete has agreed to do it too (although less fearfull).   We are both doing this in Brian’s memory for the charity that he supported.

So … here is what we are going to do – EEEK!!
Tandem skydive, 24th May 2015 - on what would have been Brian’s 48thbirthday.

I hate heights and my legs normally take hours to stop shaking if any heights are ventured so this will be interesting! This will be a huge challenge for us both but feel that something positive has got to come out of something so terrible and hopefully once the legs have stopped shaking we will appreciate what an awesome experience it was. There are also 5 other equally mad friends that will be skydiving that day.

Why DLRAA? It is a sad fact that accidents do happen and should the worst happen, it's these guys who we rely upon. Brian was a great supporter of DLRAA after one of his best friends was airlifted to hospital following an accident earlier in 2014.  Brian raised £850 for them the month before he died.

The DLRAA provide an invaluable, life-saving service and are the local Air Ambulance service for Derbyshire and the Peak District. All air ambulance services receive no government or lottery funding and rely solely on public donations, fundraising activities and sponsorship to survive.

So, here is the big ask . Please sponsor us to do the most terrifying thing we are ever likely to do for this amazing charity and in the memory of Brian. We must be mad! We are paying for the tandem skydive so that all money raised will go directly to DLRAA .

So please please dig deep and donate now. All donations, big or small, are greatly appreciated by myself and the DLRAA.
