Story

On Thursday 29th July, I attended City of London Magistrate court for my trial for a Section 14 charge on September 1st 2020. In a rare move, I was found guilty and given a conditional discharge, BUT I was NOT ordered to pay ANY costs to the prosecution, despite the CPS requesting full compensation of £770.

I have also had court fines and fees recently DROPPED for the Contempt of Court (Disobey in the Dock) I did in the original trial for this charge on 22nd June as I was re-sentenced from the 3 week suspended sentence and £168 in fines and fees to just 1 day in prison (time spent at the court cells on June 22nd)>

And so, in response to this, I have set up a fundraiser for the Ella Roberta Family Foundation, so that those who would have kindly and generously donated to help me pay my dues to the state, can instead support the work of an amazing charity. Please, if you can, donate to this fundraiser, especially if you would have donated to support me in paying the state, it's a win win situation - no money to the state, all the money to an incredible cause.

I had contact with Rosamund, Ella's mother, following my contempt of court and wish to raise a minimum of £168 for them (my original fine and fees for my Contempt of Court). I'd love to raise at least £300 if I can, or more, in fact I want to raise the full costs I could have got:£938, for Rosamund's and the foundation's resilience, efforts and work is incredible.

I want to support the foundation since many of us (including me) bring up the coroner's verdict for Ella in our cases - it's only fair I support her memory, since Ella lost her life due to the government's criminal behaviour of not enacting the Paris Agreement. Her mother fought for 7 years to have 'air pollution' added to the coroner's report as a material cause of Ella's death and the aim of the Foundation is to raise awareness of the dangers of asthma so that no child will ever have to suffer the way Ella did. Please have a look at http://ellaroberta.org/about-the-foundation/

This is happening to my ex-students, the children in London and the UK, there IS an imminent threat to life, this is the reason why I act. Out of necessity to safeguard my ex-students.

A huge thank you to anyone who donates to my fundraiser in Ella's
memory. If you can, just donate a few quid - I'd rather the money for
Ella's family to continue their amazing work than a celebratory drink,
if you can donate more, please do. Just remember, I could be asking for over £900 for the state instead of raising money for a good cause if the prosecution had got their way! Ella didn't deserve to die.

With eternal love and gratitude,

Shel xoxo
(of 'bad' character, but not yet punished by the state)
