18/9/10: Andy and Ben set off this morning on the start of the 2 day course. The rest of the gang went to visit the grave of Neil's wife's father tragically killed in a RAF accident in 1965.

17/9/10: Boys set off 6.30am this morning, Last seen in services in Blackpool.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Over the weekend of 18/19 September, we are crossing from one side of Scotland to the other. Using our legs, bikes and kayaks, we travel from the North Sea's Moray Firth, through the Scottish Highlands to the shores of Loch Ness, onto Great Glen and Ben Nevis to the finish line - 105 miles later - at Glencoe.

Pete Kemble, Chris Smith and Mark Lay are taking part in the Racer competition, which means they have to complete the 105 miles in under 13 hours. Ben Wright and Andrew Crankshaw are taking part in the Challenger race which means they have 2 days to complete the gruelling course. Neil Stanley is driving our support vehicle.

We are all ex-rugby players and consequently carry a variety of old injuries, but the hope is that our bodies will last long enough to complete the challenge. Our wives think we are all going through various stages of mid-life crises and are basically mad.

We have decided to do this stupid challenge (despite the fact we are all carrying a few pounds too many) for a very worthwhile charity - Willen Hospice, a registered charity that provides specialist care for people whose illness no longer responds to curative treatment.

Any donations would be very gratefully received - we are certainly putting our bodies on the line so please dig deep for a very worthwhile charity.

Thanks,

Pete, Ben, Chris, Mark, Honks and Stanners.
