Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit Shirley's JustGiving page

Over the last year Shirley suffered from the terrible desease that is leukaemia and although she fought the desease till the bitter end, sadly she passed away on the 4th August 2009. Anyone who knew Shirley would have known what an amazing women she was and how her caring and loving nature influenced the lives of people she met and loved. Whilst Shirley was in hospital with her illness she always spoke highly of the NHS staff who helped her to fight her illness. Without the incredible work of the NHS staff Shirley would not have had the fighting chance they gave her and would also not have had the nursing and treatment she so deserved.

As part part of remembering Shirley's loving and giving nature we, her family, feel it appropriate, as well as something Shirley would have approved of, to donate money that would have been spent on flowers to Leukaemia Research. The work carried out by Leukamia Research touches the lives of many people and their families and therefore on behalf of Shirley we encourage you to dig deep and give to this amazing organisation. Thank you for taking the time to visit the page and we wish you all the best for the future.

Thank you
