We provide care and treatment to help more people survive cancer

Story

It is now a year since the sad loss of our Shore Capital
friend and colleague Simon Wickham who lost his battle with cancer in February
2021.  With this in mind, the employees of Shore Capital wanted to once
again do something positive in his memory and raise money for a great
charity.  We are dusting off our step counters and trainers and once again
will be spending March Walking All Over Cancer.

This year any money raised from our step challenge will be
in support of the Head and Neck Cancer Centre at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital.
One of the largest specialist head and neck cancer centres in the UK, the Head
and Neck Cancer Centre brings together a range of programmes to offer high
quality care to patients and to improve the speed in which diagnoses for head
and neck cancer patients are made.

We appreciate your support in aid of our efforts and most
importantly this extremely worthy cause

With a focus on patient-centred care, we combine state-of-the art-equipment, novel clinical trials, passionate staff and the most modern cancer research with compassion and effective psychological support so that our patients and their loved ones can feel fully supported throughout their cancer journey. We do this because we know each person and every cancer is unique - we don’t want to treat them all the same. Guy’s is the leading UK provider of care and treatment for people with cancer and we’re dedicated to helping patients navigate what can be the most challenging time of their lives. With all our services located under one roof within our bright and welcoming Cancer Centre, we’re able to offer seamless care every step of the way, from diagnosis, through treatment, and after, in an environment that doesn’t feel like a traditional hospital. We know that the landscape of cancer is changing. More people are being affected, but we’re at an exciting point in time when promising new therapies are being developed and research breakthroughs are waiting to be made. It’s crucial that we continue to fund the innovative research, treatment and exceptional care that takes place at Guy’s to ensure we keep going above and beyond what the NHS alone can provide as we help more people cope with and survive cancer.
