Through my long history of mental illness I have had many struggles and learned a few things. One of the most important is that exercise improves my mental health condition no end. I now do regular exercise at my local sports centre.

I've struggled to find treatment and this year I learned that the charity Rethink is doing some of that struggling for me at a parliamentary level. Rethink does it's best to represent my interests and those of people like me. It's trying to ensure that we get treatment.

They also provide local mental health services in my area. For mental health day this year I wanted to give something back and so I'm organising a sponsored swim. Some of the staff at my local Rethink centre and some of the service users have agreed to join in. Please help us by sponsoring us for swimming either 0.5km, 1km or 1.5km. Below is the list of distances we're swimming. 

We could of course do with some support so if you'd like to join us at the Magnet Leisure Centre, Maidenhead on 10th October 2010 at 4pm please do.
