Brain Tumour Research is the leading voice of the brain tumour community and focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours. We are campaigning to increase the national investment in research to £35 million per year and funding sustainable Centres of Excellence across the UK.

Story

On the 1st December I am taking part in a White Collar Boxing event to raise money for cancer research, but more specifically for Brain tumour research as it is a charity close to my heart.

As you hopefully know I am a lover not a fighter so this is me going way out of my comfort zone. It is an 8 week professional boxing training camp that started 10th October. I am completely committed and taking it very seriously.

8 weeks and 6 minutes in a ring as far out out my comfort zone as I have ever been!In the hope that by doing so I can raise as much money as possible for those who may be living out of their comfort zone every day.

The headaches, aches pains and fatigue that I will feel will only last for the training camp and shortly after the fight. However this is nothing to what people with brain tumours having treatment will go through.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under 40 years of age than any other cancer! yet unfortunately only receive 1% of the national spend on Cancer Research.

16,000 people are diagnosed with brain tumours every year, less than 20% of those survive beyond 5 years.

National brain tumour research funding needs to increase to £35 million a year.

So please dig deep, show you’re support and help fund the uk research centres fight this devastating disease.
