Story

Updated on Sep 12th 2010 at 5:13 PM using the JustGiving iPhone app

With great sadness I was unable to complete all 3 peaks. A dormant ligament injury in my right knee was aggravated and 1 mile up scafell pike I was advised by our guide to return. We needed to descend from the summit in darkness and my pace would have hindered the team. My sincere apologies, I shall return, fitter, stronger and wiser, and all 3 summits will be reached.. Thanks to you all. I will post our collective pot as soon as the figures are in. You contributed and supported me, I am very grateful. Simon

Hi all,

I am doing The Three Peaks Challenge over the weekend of 10th, 11th 12th September 2010. If you don't already know that means I we will be climbing to the summit of Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England, and Mount Snowden in Wales all in 24 hours !

I am doing the challenge to raise money for my employers nominated charity this year which is Happy Days. Happy Days are a national children's charity dedicated to providing holidays, residential trips, days out and theatre trips for disadvantaged young people with special needs.

The young people we help range in age from 3 to 17. They come from many different backgrounds and cultures and suffer many different conditions. We offer help to those with learning difficulties, physical or mental disabilities and with acute, chronic or life limiting illnesses. We also help young people who have been abused or neglected, witnessed domestic violence, been bereaved or act as carers for a parent or a sibling.

If I could ask for any donation large or small for this rather brave undertaking I am sure to smash my target. Please forward my page to anyone who knows me, friends or family, the more people that know, the more that might want to donate. The more donations, the bigger the benefit for these kids that need this money!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So please dig deep and donate now.

Wish me Luck !!

Warmest Regards,
