My story
Thank you for taking the time to visit Sinclair IS Pharma's JustGiving page.
The time of year has come again… Bright and early on Sunday 13th May 2012, 64 walkers from Sinclair IS Pharma will once again partake in the fundraising event, ‘Walk the Wight’- a sponsored walk across the Isle of Wight. Last year, our participants completed the first part of the walk, therefore this year they shall complete the second part- from Carisbrooke to Needles Park, covering a total distance of 14 miles.
Undeterred by the unpredictable UK summer weather, our walkers will further be embracing the great outdoors, by camping in tents the night before.
This is obviously a fantastic team-building exercise for Sinclair, but more importantly, a brilliant opportunity to get involved in fundraising for the charity and organiser of the event, the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
The Earl Mountbatten Hospice is the only hospice on the Isle of Wight, and cares for over 800 patients every year either through the In-Patient Ward, Day-care Unit or Hospice @ Home team. Its aim is to give its patients and their families the best quality of life possible. It currently costs £3.7 million to run the Hospice each year. While it receives a grant from the local Primary Care Trust for approximately a third of this sum, it still has to fundraise £4,500 each day to provide this unparalleled level of care.
With your help, we can all contribute towards this worthy cause. By sponsoring us today, you can support our team in this adventure and make a difference to the local community on the island. Any donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference, so please do donate to the cause.

The Earl Mountbatten Hospice is the Island's only hospice. It cares for over 1300 people at any one time, people who have been given a life limiting diagnosis. To continue to be able to provide free care we need to raise £2 million per year.
