Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On the 18 May 2013 starting at 8am, 36 of us are going to climb Snowdon following the Lamberis path.  We are a group from Crossroads Care (Forest of Dean and Herefordshire) and The Friends Association of Littledean C of E Primary School.

We are embarking on this adventure in loving memory of our dear friend Annie Havard who lost her battle to cancer in December last year. In order to celebrate her life we are raising funds for two organisations which in different ways have meant a lot to Annie.

Annie has 4 children who all attend Littledean C of E Primary School and Annie was an active member of school life. As a member of The Friends Association, Annie helped to raise hundreds of pounds and participated in every event she possibly could. We would like to celebrate all her hard work and support Annie’s children who want to create a memory garden within the school grounds. The Friends Association would like to purchase a ‘Gruffalo’ Bench to go in the garden. Annie loved reading her children the Gruffalo story and we are lucky enough to have a local artist who is willing to carve a bench with the Gruffalo and other characters on it. We are also hoping to help the school purchase some iPads which will ensure the children are able to access current technology and keep them up to date in our ever changing world.

The other organisation we are raising money for is Crossroads Care (Forest of Dean and Herefordshire). During the last few months of Annie’s life, the team from Crossroads provided invaluable support and care for Annie, her husband Jon and their children. This support has continued since Annie’s death and Jon and the children continue to appreciate the emotional and practical support that they offer. As Crossroads Care is a charity we are want to raise money to ensure that they are able to continue offering this support not only to Jon and the children but to others in the community that need it.
