Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Having survived the Bushy Park Duathlon in September last year I decided I needed something more challenging to endure and i've signed up for a triathlon! On the 7th August I will be taking part in the London Triathlon hoping to raise money for the charity Beat. I will be doing a 750m (open water, in a wetsuit!!*) Swim / 20km Bike / 5km Run. I apologise in advance for the constant talk of wetsuits, transistions and Lucozade you're all going to have to put up with.

*SCARED!

Beat are a fantastic charity who have a huge place in my heart and they rely on kind donations to carry on their wonderful work. I know money is tight for alot of people at the moment, but please donate as much or as little as you can afford. I know the money will go to great use.

Beat's aims are:

  • To change the way everyone thinks and talks about eating disorders
  • To improve the way services and treatment are provided
  • And to help anyone believe that their eating disorder can be beaten

Every year they support 325,000 people and they need your help to reach even more:

    • £5 means they can deal with a post on the message board
    • £10 lets them respond to a Self Help Group enquiry
    • £25 allows them to answer 5 questions in the Youth Chat Room
    • £50 ensures that a helpline worker can provide support to a caller affected by an eating disorder.
    • £100 allows a beat ambassador to talk about and raise awareness of eating disorders in the national media.

A huge thanks for everyone's support and I hope to see you on the day cheering me on/dragging me out of the water.
