I’m jumping out of an aeroplane on May 15^th to raise money for the Globe Players (Registered charity 1131332).

Founded in 1966, the Globe Players have opened the door to a love of live theatre to generation after generation of schoolchildren. They are the foremost professional theatre company touring Shakespeare, Fairy Stories and History Shows to schools in London and the south-east.

More than 100,000 primary and secondary school children have their lives enhanced by a visit from the Globe Players every year. Millions have had the wonders of the works of Shakespeare opened up to them by the Globe Players. Don’t let this end!

The Globe Players became a charity last year and they are now seeking the funding grants necessary to continue their essential work. Until these come through they require emergency funding.

Also, it’s not just generations of children that have had their first and abiding experience of live theatre with the Globe Players, it’s also generation after generation of actors. Hundreds have started their careers with the company. Many come back year after year, honing their skills, becoming members of the Globe Players family. Long may this continue!

The Globe Players need £40,000 to keep going, and I’m doing a parachute jump on Saturday, hoping to raise at least £10,000 towards it.
