Story
I am running the marathon in memory of my father (professor) Timothy Cooke who died a little over a year ago in a freak car accident whilst returning from a family sailing holiday. The morning my father died I was running a 10 KM charity run in Hyde Park, London and only found out about the accident on my return (hence the running connection.) My father was a leading breast cancer specialist and until his death held the St Mungo Chair of Surgery at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Lead Clinician for Breast Services, Associate Medical Director of Surgery for Glasgow, and Lead for Surgical Oncology for Glasgow. I have decided to run for the charity Breast Cancer Care, a cause which I feel would have been close to my father's heart. My father was also a keen sportsman and ran several marathons including the London Marathon. I can't promise I will match his best time but I am certainly extremely determined to complete the 26 miles (come what may!!) and to raise money for an excellent charity - Breast Cancer Care. I would really appreciate your support. Thank you in advance.
