As I am turning 30 next year, I thought the time was right to take on a new challenge. Having completed half marathons and triathlons in the past, I have now decided to take on 5 marathons in one year, in the form of 4 half and 3 full marathons:

• Newport half marathon (5th March)
• Brighton marathon (9th April)
• Great Welsh half marathon (7th May)
• Edinburgh marathon (28th May)
• Cardiff half marathon (1st October)
• Llanelli half marathon (25th February)
• Barcelona marathon (11th March)

To keep me motivated through what will no doubt be a gruelling 12 months, I have chosen 3 charities that are very close to my heart to support.

The Stroke Association is the UK's leading stroke charity, changing the lives of people that have been affected by stroke, through cutting edge treatment and raising awareness of the early warning signs. Having seen the impact of stroke first hand when it affected my wonderful Grandma several years ago, I can see how important effective treatment and care is to allow people to recover as much as possible.
