Story
Im Sophie Whitham aged 16 and Im doing a sponsored skydive on the 18th August for Derian House Children's Hospice. My sister Rachel has Juvenile Huntington's disease which is a degenerative terminal illness. She started with the illness when she was just 9 years old she is now 19 and coming to the end of her life. Me and my family have been attending Derian House since Rachel was 16, it is an absolutely amazing place and does so much work to make lives of seriously ill children and their families that little bit easier. Derian House Childrens Hospice provide lots of emotional and physical support to my family. Without there support over the past few years as a family we would have forgotten about the happy memories we can still have with Rachel. They provide care for many very sick children from diagnosis to the final days. Do you know that a hospice only gets statutory funding for just 5 weeks a year. Meaning they are almost totally reliant on fundraising efforts. Please support my cause not just for me but for the many families with seriously ill children too.
