The hand of friendship: welcome & support for asylum seekers

Fundraising for Southampton Action

Help us to welcome asylum seekers, and refugees who are part of the government's resettlement scheme, by providing clothes, toiletries and other basic necessities.

Story

I am organising an Art Auction to raise funds to help Southampton Action support asylum seekers who are newly arrived in the South of England. Many do not have adequate clothes, shoes, toiletries and other necessities, and Southampton Action are working hard to plug the gap.

£5 will buy a bag of toiletries for one asylum seeker.
£10 will help towards the cost of clothing and shoes.

Many asylum seekers and refugees will have been through hugely traumatic
experiences, both in their own countries and on their journey to the UK.
Southampton Action believes asylum seekers deserve to be treated with
compassion, dignity and respect while their claims are being assessed, just as we would expect to be treated if we were forced to seek asylum in another country.
They listen to their individual needs and do their best to provide the
necessities they lack for example clothes, toiletries or shoes.

Please help by taking
part in this Art Auction event and donating to my fundraising page.
