We want to make a Suicide Safer Cumbria and to support those left behind.

Story

Hello!

Myself, Chloe and the rest of Team Cumbria are bearing all in a walk up Helvellyn in our Speedo swimsuits, to raise money for Cumbrian charity Every Life Matters!

ELM do amazing work across the county to prevent suicides and support those who have lost someone. With Cumbria having a suicide rate higher than the national average, we're passionate about supporting this charity, especially now, seeing the effects of the pandemic on people's mental health.

Mark kicks it off on June 28th with a solo X-Ullswater swim in speedos, with a specialist open water coach in a safety boat and one of his sons offering encouragement! Then, on July 10th, 'Team Cumbria' will be ascending Helvellyn in Speedos with kit donated by Speedo UK, plus boots & socks (of course) and a support crew carrying refreshments and emergency essentials. We have alerted the relevant authorities and are fully risk assessed! There will of course be many photographs of the team in their endeavours - but please note a health warning may apply to the images you see!

So, if you can donate anything from £1 upwards - maybe forgo that Costa Coffee for the team and donate the equivalent?
