by 48 supporters
We support asylum seekers and refugees to help them build a safe life in the UK.

Story

The members of Staple Hill Community Action Against Racism want to do something to help the current situation in Afghanistan. As a diverse community that celebrates people from all over the world, we want to support the work of organisations helping refugees settle in Bristol.

On September 26th at 2pm people of all ages are welcome to either walk, cycle or run 10 laps around Page Park to raise money for Bristol Refugee Rights.

It has been announced that Bristol will initially welcome 10 families from Afghanistan and organisations like Bristol Refugee Rights will work with these families to meet their basic needs when arriving such as housing, phone credit, legal support and groceries. Please donate what you can afford.

£5 goes towards bus fairs or taxi rides.

£10 buys one month of phone credit.

£30 feeds a family for a week.

£40 tackles isolation through English language classes and meet ups.

£50 provides interpreter services for someone needing access to their own language.

£100 could help a young person access housing and provide extensive support to an individual.

Thank you for reading. Hope to see you on the 26th of September at 2pm to either join us or cheer us on!
