Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for donations to the Margaret Kerr Unit in memory of Eleanor Lande.

Eleanor, my Aunt, passed away peacefully on 26 May 2021. After being diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour in April, Eleanor was admitted to the Margaret Kerr Palliative Care Unit at the Borders General Hospital in Melrose, where she received fantastic care, ensuring her last few weeks were pain free and above all dignified. 

Not only was Eleanor wonderfully well looked after, the team also showed deep compassion to her family and friends – they even facilitated a champagne and strawberry afternoon, one of Eleanor’s greatest pleasures!

Eleanor was a vivacious and compassionate lady with a wonderful zest for life who will be sadly missed by many.  She loved flowers, but I know she preferred that donations in her memory go to support the work of those who cared for her so well at the end.
