In memory of DJ Schiulaz
To honor DJs memory, his friends, brothers and classmates have undertaken to establish this fund, to be known as the "DJ Schiulaz '10 Memorial Scholarship", as a way to honor his life, service and friendship.

Story

Being diagnosed with Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy at age 4 1/2, DJ lived a life for the record books. A life to be admired. An inspiration to everyone, and this amazing ability to make every single person he ever met feel special, heard and important.

Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy is a heart wrenching, degenerative disease that affects 1 in about 7,700+ people. With an average life expectancy of late teens to 20 years old, DJ- the medical miracle that he was- blessed us with his beautiful soul and epic light for over 34 life changing years.

For the past 12+ years, DJ has always been my voice of reason, my home-base, the better half of my soul, my pride and joy, and my favorite part about me. Everything that I'll ever need to know about Life, Love and the Pursuit of Happiness- I learned from DJ, Cathy & Dave. Our annual trips to the New Jersey Vampire Diaries Conventions with DJ will always be some of the most highlighted adventures of my life!

For the past 5+ years, I have been so blessed to be able to go to work everyday at Make-A-Wish, and continue to honor DJ by helping to make other WISHES like his come true.

To memorialize DJs heroic legacy, we have established this fund to be known as the "DJ Schiulaz '10 Memorial Scholarship", as a way to honor his life, service and friendship to all. And with this, we hope to always continue to make him proud!
