Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

My husband Nick and myself are running the 2010 Virgin London Marathon on Sunday 25th April for the Special Care Baby Unit at the Princess Royal Hospital, Farnborough, Kent. In July 2009 we had identical twin boys, Max and George who were 4 weeks early. Both were good weights but had very low sugar levels when they were born and went into the unit. The boys had problems throughout the pregancy and it was touch and go at times, so we knew they were in the best place. Max and George were in special care for 4 days and the staff did a fantasic job.

We have raised money for many charities over the years but after our experience in the unit we knew we wanted to give something back and this is a great way to do so. We were very lucky the boys were only in the unit for 4 days, as talking to other parents, the unit was there home. Some babies had been in the unit for 2-3 months and had no going home date yet. The staff work so hard, long hours and are so friendly, without donations they would not beable to run like they do.

Even if you can only give a pound, every pound helps this charity!
