When I was growing up in Liverpool, my neighbour was diagnosed with CF and I found out what a difficult condition this is to live with. My girlfriend's family also carry the CF gene, her mother having lost a brother to it when he was just 4. It is the most common life-threatening inherited disease in the UK.
