We challenge attitudes on mental health to help anyone affected by mental illness

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I, along with three other colleagues, Stu, Neil and Phil, are cycling Coast to Coast (C2C) on 30 June 2012 in one day, a distance of up to 140 miles and about 10,000 feet of uphill. On the day, Martin will be with us in a support vehcile. We are raising funds for the Rethink Mental Illness charity. I only took up road biking in the last February and the training is taking longer and is becoming harder, but I feel it is worth it for the cause we are cycling for.

I have a particular interest in this charity because my younger son developed a severe mental illness when he was 18yrs old. Rethink helped Ben enormously, they also gave me and my wife tremendous support and advice. Ben is still unable to work through illness but he has made outstanding progress over the years that would not have been possible without the help, advice and support of Rethink, and he is now able to live an independant life.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
