Steria's Haiti Appeal February 2010

Raising money for Haiti via DEC (Disasters Emergency Committee)

We will all have been shocked to see the extent of the terrible devastation caused by the Haiti earthquake. We have watched the rescue efforts, sadly very few with happy endings, and we have seen the relief agencies battling to get emergency supplies in to help the survivors.

During the month of February, Steria has committed to match donations given by our people across the globe, to raise funds that will be used to help Haiti to rebuild their homes and lives following this terrible disaster. Your money will be used to do things like build schools for the children and homes for the thousands who have been left without anywhere to live. We will work through organisations such as the DEC in the UK and with local charities in each country, to direct the funds where they are most needed.

The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) is an umbrella organisation for 13 humanitarian aid agencies. At times of overseas emergency, the DEC brings together a unique alliance of the UK's aid, corporate, public and broadcasting sectors to rally the nation's compassion, and ensure that funds raised go to DEC agencies best placed to deliver effective and timely relief to people most in need. For more information about DEC, please see http://www.dec.org.uk/

Please give what you can to help raise funds. And remember that all the money you give during February will be doubly effective channelled through our Steria Haiti Appeal, with the Company's matched funding pledge!

Working together, we can make a difference.
