On Saturday 23^rd October we will take part in the Beachy Head Marathon. We have entered as walkers and will be walking the 26-27 miles over the South Downs, which includes the Seven Sisters, starting and finishing at the foot of Beachy Head.

We originally entered as a personal challenge, but we are now aiming to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer Support. We have a very personal motive for doing this as my youngest sister Geraldine (Gel), who is not yet 40, was recently diagnosed with a very aggressive form of Breast Cancer. Gel has received fabulous support from the Macmillan team over the last 2 months.

We have been training since we came back from holiday in August, with a long walk each week, so far the longest being about 20 miles. As part of our intensive training programme we have both vowed not to have a single alcoholic drink from the Monday to the Friday before the walk. That is 5 whole days and for those of you who know us well, it must be worth sponsoring us just for that alone!
