Story
I started smoking in the summer of 1990 and finally decided I felt rough enough to try and quit in June 2012. I wanted to do something to help keep me off the fags so decided to take up running, something I used to enjoy when I was a teenager, but was rubbish at even then! Following a slow 5k run in Peterborough in October 2012, I thought I'd try and do some good by running the Fleet Half Marathon in Hampshire on 17th March, a race I used to watch when I was younger growing up there. The cause was easy; having lost my Grandad to cancer in 2007, and my father-in-law Terry and Aunt Maria last year, Cancer Research seemed the obvious choice.......so here we are, having run 50 yards last August the first time I went out, the 13.1 mile course beckons!!
