The Outward Bound Trust is an educational charity dedicated to unlocking the potential in young people between the ages of 9-25 through discovery and adventure in the wild. We give them access to adventurous experiences through which they can learn to achieve more than they ever thought possible.

Story

So, what have I gotten myself in for?!

Doing a marathon has always been a goal of mine, and finally I have committed! My Grandfather used to be a big runner and did quite a few marathons in his time, including San Francisco and Honolulu.

Doing the marathon and raising money and awareness for the Outward Bound Trust is also part of why I am doing it, as I think Outward Bound is a fantastic charity.  I did Outward Bound in New Zealand when I was 24 and it changed my life.  The experience was pretty amazing and being able to support the charity on this side of the world is great.  For those of you who don't know what Outward Bound is, check out the link.

Have started getting back into running again (early morning starts are painful) and training will start in earnest in January 2010 for race day on April 25 2010.  My most recent effort in a long distance run was a 23km run which took 1hr55mins, so I am going for less than 4 hours in the Marathon.

Please support me and the Outward Bound Trust by donating.  Keep track of my progress on this page and on facebook as well http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=274107727327
