Story

Thanks to everyone that so generously sponsored us and helped raise soo much for such a worthwhole cause!!!

If you havent sponsored us yet theres still time!!!!

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Steve, Chris and Emily from Towry Law Birmingham are all trying to raise money....

As you can see we are  running the Birmingham Half Marathon and in doing so raising money for the Orpheus Centre..

We are not choosing to run 13 miles for fun...

For those of you that dont know what this is, the Orpheus Centre is a  performing arts centre for young disabled people, generally with physical and/or sensory impairments. they arent setting out to train apprentices to be actors, singers or musicians instead they use their enthusiasm for the performing arts to teach skills for living and improve self-knowledge, self-confidence and teamwork. Since they started ten years ago many young people have completed their apprenticeships and left to go to college, live in their own flats and generally live life with a level of independence that they, their parents and social workers say would have been unthinkable without their years at Orpheus.

Many of you here will know Steve's Brother Peter and be aware that he is a resident at the Orpheus Centre... Peter has really enjoyed his time there and is looking forward to another two years and the new experiences and skills that he will acquire wilst there.  The centre really needs our support so that young people like Peter can continue to benefit from all the centre has to offer!!

The centre is certainly not cheap to run and relies on funding from various sources.. an important part of that fund raising is through people like you sponsoring people like me....
