We fund our mental health community of men to prevent ill mental health and suicide.

Story

James Aaron John Hill
29th September 1984 - 11th August 2021

In August 2021 we lost James, a dear friend, a great son, brother and a great person loved by many, and we really miss him.

After learning about their work I'm raising money for Talk Club, a Bristol based charity that sets up talking and listening clubs for men, nationwide and beyond, built around the question: How are you? Out of 10? At a time when suicide is the biggest killer of men under 49.

I'm going to trek the 630 mile South West Coast Path, England's longest footpath, from Minehead along the coasts of Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, and Dorset -to Poole Harbour. I'll be wild camping along the way, fitting stages between uni and hospital placements.

I'm enormously grateful for any support you can give.

And from James sister Sophia on the eve of what would have been James 38th birthday:

Son, brother, deeply loved friend to so many people. A linguist fluent in French and Spanish, an acupuncturist with a gift for compassionate, thoughtful healing.

Long legged, blue eyed with a mischievous smile that lit up the room. A fantastic dancer, easy conversationalist, funny and fast witted. Kind. Endlessly whole-heartedly kind.

We miss him every moment and every day.

It is so important to support of the work of Talk Club and help ensure there are vital talking and listening spaces for men, and hopefully start to reduce the tragic loss of life to suicide.
