Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for Ndoro Childrens Charities. If you are unsure about donating, let me explain what I am going to do to be worthy of your well-earned cash.

Over 3 consecutive days, I undertook a testing and painful athletic feat (in my opinion anyway.)

June 14th) I swam 120 lengths of a 25m pool... a total of 3000m! COMPLETED IN 1hr16mins!

June 15th) I cycled around my university (University of Nottingham) 15 times... a distance that totals 51 miles! COMPLETED IN 5hrs25mins!

June 16th) I ran from Derby to the University of Nottingham - a distance that covers 14.5 miles! COMPLETED IN 2hrs58mins!

And let me tell you, exhausted doesn't cover half of it!

So why did I do this?

I am doing this through Ibex Earth and The Lost World Project (which sadly has nothing to do with dinosaurs or Jurassic Park), the same people who made Planet Earth. They are offering 10 young adults to win the chance to learn intensive camera training from professional photographers and the go to Mount Roraima in Venezuela, South America to film a documentary of the wildlife and the ecosystem there. If you have seen the film 'Up', it looks like Paradise Falls - I'm not kidding. For proof, look here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKb7rJqHtGc

By raising £250, I will receive an invite to the premiere of the documentary in London. *TARGET ACHIEVED =)*

By raising £500, I will receive an extra 5 entires into the competition. *TARGET ACHIEVED =)*

By raising  £1000, I will receive an extra 10 entries into the competition, PLUS an internship with one of Ibex Earth's Environmental and Conservation partners.

So are you paying for my holiday/internship with these people? NO! You could donate a million pounds and I WILL NOT SEE A SINGLE PENNY. EVER!

Those that will are the children of Zimbabwe. Ndoro Children Charities is an international programme that seeks to end the suffering of children in Africa, primarily Zimbabwe, by giving them a decent education, good health and stability, so that they can go into the world with skills and knowledge - not live in fear of political pressures and tyranical ruling.

Having been to Africa and see the troubles of the people there first hand, this is an issue that is very close to me. Remember, it's not me you're raising money for - its them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dqWA4h6iXU

So please dig deep and donate now. Deadline for donations is SUNDAY 16TH JULY 2010!

I will try and keep you all updated, either here or on YouTube. Visit www.youtube.com/STUpid4charity for all the updates.
