Story
Those of you that know me are aware that I like a challenge and that fitness is my passion - to ask you to support me to do a marathon or Triathlon would be unfair as whilst challenging these are events in which I compete in for fun therefore I wanted to choose something which would be a real challenge - and this will be. On the 14th/15th June 2014 I will be taking part in ride 24 - a non stop 24hr bike ride from London to Lands End. I am taking the next 6 months out of my usual Triathlon training programme in order to prepare myself for this immense challenge and its all in aid of a great Charity based in Wiltshire - "SPLASH" - (www.splash-wiltshire.org.uk)
Splash are a charity based in Wiltshire and do fantastic work throughout the county, they provide activities for children between the ages of 9 and 16 during school holidays aimed at attracting them in to positive and inspiring activities and diverting them away from negative and antisocial behaviour. Fitness is a big passion of mine and I believe that by giving young people who may be socially or financially disadvantaged the opportunity to become involved in leisure activities will help to focus and channel there outlook on life. I have conducted voluntary work providing positive activities for young people who may not normally be given that opportunity and it is very rewarding to see the positive impact it has on there lives. SPLASH rely on the generosity of voulunteers and kind donations in order to be able to continue offering these activities. I am giving up a bit of my spare time in order to attempt this challenege and in return I seek your generosity in the way of a kind donation towards this great charity.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I will keep you up to date with my training for this challenge.
