Story

Right last year I ran the 10K but failed to do the so called "easier" bit of setting up a webpage for charitable donations.  So this year I am going to run it again AND set up a webpage so ta da.... I was going to try and be extremely witty but I am not very good at that so let's start with the serious bit.  I am going to be running under the banner of the "Love Running" red t-shirted loons - some might think "Love Running" to be an oxymoron and indeed I would probably fall in that camp.  However, the Group (which is under the charity woodlands Churches) is running for a number of charities both international and local.

The causes:

World Vision in Zimbabwe.

There is in Zimbabwe a situation of extreme urgency, and want to do something that will literally save lives - particularly those of children - in the grip of an ongoing cholera epidemic and unprecedented famine, suffering and misery.

Stop the Traffik

It is estimated that there are 12.3 million people in forced labour worldwide, of which 2.4 million are the result of human trafficking. That's slavery, to you and me.

Three local Bristol charities:

    St Peters Hospice
    The Noise
    Crisis Centre

All very good causes I am sure you will agree.  The funny bit is the thought of me and my hair running/stumbling/bouncing my way round Bristol City Centre so please feel free to come and watch/encourage/laugh/ridicule me as I aim to improve on last year's time.  However, if you do decide to carry out the last two of those options please do also dig deep in your pockets and sponsor my attempt to get round as I am sure you will agree they are worthy causes.

Here comes the blurb about payment:

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

About the charity

We're a diverse mix. We have students, young people, singles and families of every shape and size. People - with all their problems, questions and quirks - are our priority. Anyone and everyone is welcome. NOTE: Love Running is now a registered charity in its own right. Visit www.loverunning.org.
