Story
Update 4th May: What a weekend!! We started at 6:30am on Saturday at the ski centre at Cairngorm. Lots of thick snow, 20-25 mile an hour winds and heavy mist but we cracked on. We made the top of Cairngorm bang on time and started to head down for the next leg up to Ben Macdhui. The mist came down and the the snow was horizontal - we were finding it hard to navigate with map and compass and were worried about the numerous snow cornices which overhang the cliff faces around where we were. After much debate we finally decided that we wanted to get back alive and with great dissapointment followed our snow tracks back to the start.
Pig sick we set off for Glen Nevis Youth Hostel hoping for better luck the next day.
Sunday 6:30am the gods are smiling as we set off, cold but relatively clear.
We climb Aonach Beag, Aonach Mor, the horrible snowy Carn Mor Dearg and its awesome Arete and finally reach the summit of Ben Nevis with clear skies and stunning views.
Twelve and a half hours after we set off, 5 of the highest mountains in the UK climbed and 8 Munro's conquered we arrived back at the Youth Hostel, tired, sore and elated.
We would like to thank all of our sponsors for their kind donations and our family and friends for their support and encouragement. We will return to Cairngorm to bag the elusive 4 very soon - Scottish summer permitting :0).
Cheers - Stuart and Paul.
