Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On May 11th, Abigail and I are aiming to walk across challenging terrain on Exmoor, including a 993m ascent. This is the second year we have attempted this, only this time the distance has increased to 23.5km from 17km. The walk has been organised as part of The Children's Challenge Mission, an organisation which arranges testing yet rewarding challenges for children with the aim to raise sponsorship for children's charities.

The event spans a weekend. We will arrive in Porlock on Friday evening, pitch our tent and get ready to start walking early on Saturday morning. The walk takes place during the day on Saturday, no doubt fueled by Jelly Babies and chocolate! It will not be an easy walk, mostly over unforgiving terrain, but hopefully will be immensely rewarding.

This year the expedition is raising money for St James's Place Charitable Foundation who support small and medium size charities, with the main focus on children and young people who have social needs through illness, disability or mental health problems. The foundation also supports the Hospice Movement and people of all ages with cancer. St James's Place Wealth Management Group is supporting the expedition and will match all donations made to their Charitable Foundation from the expedition. So every £1 you can give is £2 to the Foundation!
