I have recently returned from the 3 Peaks Challenge in aid of Unison Bucket and Spade Appeal.   It was challenging but worth the effort for the fantastic views.

Dispite a huge growth in tourism a quarter of teh Uk's population, including many families with children, are excluded from taking a holiday mainly because they cannot afford them.

This includes families whose poor financial situation is compaounded by illness, bereavement, domestic violence, bad housing and many other problems and it is the children in these families that most suffer.  All proceeds from the UNISON Welfare 2010 events will go to the appeal.

I have already raised some money by undertaking sewing tasks for friends and family and from generouse donations from colleagues at work.
