Lucas Turnbull has spastic diplegia but there is an operation that can help! I am running the 10K around the Rock Run in Gibraltar to raise money for Tree of Hope in support of Lucas Turnbull.
He's now 3 (and a half) and can't walk or stand without help. Spastic diplegia is a form of cerebral palsy that makes his legs rigid and tense. It can't be cured but his quality of life can be improved by Selective Dorsal Rhyzotomy (an operation pioneered by an amazing doctor in St Louis, USA).
This operation will relieve the tension and pain, prevent more invasive surgery later in life. The NHS do not fund this operation and we need to raise the money to fund the operation and physiotherapy.
