Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, I hope you feel like you would like to help even if in a small way.
My sister recently had twins prematurely at 23 weeks pregnant. To put this into context a full term pregnancy lasts 40 weeks. After over 5 days in Labour mother was doing ok, Georgia and Jack were just over 1lbs each in weight and being so premature were very weak. We were all set to leave the newly grown family in peace for some rest when the doctors rushed into the room and ushered us all up to the special care baby unit. We watched in despair while they took little Georgia off of life support to let her pass away in her mothers arms. Life for such a young child was too much to ask in this case. During this ordeal the support and care offered to my sister and our family has been so unselfish and really over and above the call of duty. Since this little Jack has been at the Trevor Mann Baby Unit and I have watched in awe the care and skill in which the staff nurse the children on the ward. I really am overwhelmed. He is stable and getting stronger as the minutes, hours, days pass. The whole event has really given us some perspective on life and a realisation of what is important and what is not so. I am going to try my best to raise some money for the ward so they can purchase more vital equipment to care for premature children. The event I am taking part in is listed as the following:challenging 10km route in each host city, with tough and engaging obstacles every kilometre, you will pit your wits against fellow "Survival" competitors in a test of stamina, grit, speed and guts. Possibly the UK's toughest obstacle course? Maybe. Possibly the UK's most action-packed 10k'
This takes place on the 4th October in Cardiff so I have a good amount of time to raise some funds
If you can help I will be eternally grateful. Please donate if you can.
