Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In case you didn't know I am going to run in the London Marathon this year, I did have a place last year but deferred it due to injury. I decided to try to raise money for Ashgate Hospice which is a local hospice which does great work and funded by charity. I don't have any particular links to it but thought long and hard about which charity I could support if anyone chose to sponsor me; Ashgate seemed to be a good cause.

If you do feel you would like to support me I would be really grateful (and so would Ashgate Hospice) please don't feel pressurised but even a very small donation would help.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

December : OK it's time for me to start some serious training now, how I envy those people who can run to work and shower when they get there, but I don't think that would go down too well in my job. I know I have access to the showers but stripping off and sharing them with the clients is something I think I should draw the line at.

April: I'm not very good at this updating online pages thing, to be honest I am far too busy doing actual running and going to work etc.  Apart from dodgy achillles tendons which means I can't run too much, all is going well and it's just over two weeks to go. Fund raising could be going better, but I am also raising money for CLIC SARGEANT who provide cancer nurses for children. I wanted to be a part of a team on the day who could give me some practical support eg; a place to meet afterwards and a running vest, so all the money people raise for Ashgate will go to ashgate but many people have sponsored me for CLIC instead.

26th April

It's all over now, i finished in four hours and two minutes which isn't too bad for an old lady. Pretty stiff today though.

Really enjoyed it and so far in addition to this money for Ashgate I have raised about another £150  for Clic Sargant.

Thanks to everyone who supported me.
