Story
It was a shock to me and my family when in 2008 I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease.
Fortunately my symptoms are well controlled by my Dopamine medication and I am still learning to adapt my daily life to avoid fatigue and allow extra time when meeting deadlines. It is work in progress!!
I find going to the gym helps keep my mobility and the stimulation of meeting up with other gym early bird users very enjoyable, there is a great camaraderie.
The support from the local Parkinson's Group is invaluable and now I am aware that each person with Parkinson's Disease has their own journey to make, as have I.
Being involved with a research project makes me feel I am contributing to perhaps finding a cure, if not for me but future generations.
