My story

Ok, so I'm not climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. But I have made some cute little pin badges in an effort to support the wonderfully brave people who are. These guys are doing on absolutely fabulous job trying to raise money for the Gastroenterology department at Great Ormond Street Hospital which is one of the largest centres in the UK, treating thousands of children every year with complex and life-limiting conditions affecting the gut as well as the pancreas and liver.

Since Lola was born, she has struggled with GORD, (Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease) and multiple food protein intolerance. Now at 14 months old, with medication and a restricted diet, she is much much better. Along the road to figuring out what was wrong with Lola I have met some extraordinary people, with unique children, who have been a lifeline to us. Every day is a huge struggle for these babies, whose lives revolve around being poorly, visiting hospital, needing strong medication and in some cases needing tube feeding in order to stay well. When I heard that the Gastro team at GOSH were giving up their valuable time in order to raise funds for research in this area I was sure I wanted to help. I can't afford much but I can afford some time to encourage all of YOU to donate. So, please find some spare pennies everyone and help these doctors help these kids, who have to climb their own mountains on a daily basis. Send a donation to my page over £2, and I will send you one of the badges I have made. Just let me know which one you would like, either "Keep Calm and Climb On" in support of the wonderful people presently on the climb, or the "Do not feed me" one for your allergic child. Send your choice along with your address to susie101@hotmail.co.uk, or message me on facebook. Make sure your name is on your donation so I can match them up. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. So please dig deep and donate now. Thank you : )
