Story

In September 2010, I will be cycling over 500km from Paris to Geneva, in aid of the Girlguiding UK Centenary Fund, to "Give a Girl a Dream".

THANK YOU to everyone who has sponsored me so far - I have now reached my target - but more donations will all go to a very worthy cause!

Thank you to:

*  friends who have donated on line

* 1st Waterbeach Brownies who raised £380 with a sponsored ride of their own;

* parents of Waterbeach Rainbows and Brownies for buying plants and vegetables, raising £90;

* Guides from 2nd Melbourn, 1st Stapleford, 26th Cambridge, and 32nd Cambridge who have come on Kayak taster sessions and donated £58

My training is progressing well - but I am struggling to find time to practise long rides, and her in Cambridge we have no hills for me to train on! So, there will still be a real challenge in trying to complete this ride - and especially in tryig to stay on it as we cross the Jura, over the Col de la Faucille (1232m), on the final day.

If you haven't yet sponsored me - please do! This Centenary Fund will help girls across the UK realise their dreams - whether that be helping them to aprticiapte in camps, trips, or activite,s or helping them to buy special equipment they need to pursue their chosen goals, Guirlguiding can help girls to see that dreams can become reality (with a little work).

This year, Girguiding is one hundred years old!

Over the past 100 years, Guiding has grown and is now an important part of communities across the UK.  We have had a lasting impact on girls from vastly different backgrounds with equally different ideas of what they want and can achieve from their lives. Many, many women of all ages have memories of their time as a Brownie, Guide or Ranger. It was as a Guide that I learned to hike, tried out making things, and discovered a love of fires!

Please help me to ensure that the fund is able to support the dreams of lots of girls. If you or your family benefited from Girlguiding, or are benefiting now, from all the support that volunteers put in to fulfilling dreams, then this is your chance to give something back, and to make sure that others benefit too.

You can donate now, on-line - its simple, fast and totally secure: JustGiving never sell details on or send unwanted emails. If you can encourage fmaily and friends to visit this page, please do - and if you have a link to a company that might like to help, put them in touch with me!

THANK YOU,

Suzanne
