Ill first start by telling you about the charity:
Who they are
LCD England and Wales is part of the international LCD family which comprises of nine separately registered organisations: Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, South Africa, Uganda, England & Wales, Ireland, Scotland and USA. LCD England and Wales was registered as a charity in 1995.
What they do
Link Community Development is a leading organisation in the delivery of school improvement programmes in Africa. Their international programmes enable wide scale improvement in the quality of education being delivered to some of the most disadvantaged children in Africa.
LCD England and Wales supports the LCD group's shared vision and mission through fundraising for the School Improvement programmes in Africa and by supporting Development Education in England and Wales.
Fundraising
LCD England & Wales staff raise funds for their international programme work from a number of sources including statutory donors, trusts, individual supporters, school sponsors, linked schools and through a range of events. This year income in England and Wales reached £1.2 million.

Fundraising highlights:
- Their signature event is the annual . In 2008 849 students from 14 universities raised a total ₤371,000 . This unique event is a real eye-opener and the journey can be a life-changing.
This is where we come in!!
Me(Oliver Londero) and James Brown are attemping to Hitchhike from Swansea, alll the way to Marrakech in Morocco in Afria.
It Sounds Mad i know but we are determined to do it!
Hitch 2010 takes place between Monday 15th March and Friday 23rd April.
We will be leaving some time between these dates. We havent decided when yet but i will update the page as soon as the date has been confirmed!
