Fundraising for COSMIC
Story
COSMIC (Children of St Mary’s Intensive Care) was set up in 1994 to support the Paediatrics Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at St Mary’s Hospital. Each year the PICU treats over 500 critically ill children, and everyday the doctors and nurses give care that is second to none, to save the lives of babies right up to 16 year olds, who have very suddenly become very ill with illnesses such as meningitis, bronchiolitis, and other life threatening infections.
COSMIC relies totally on donations to fund vital life-saving equipment, groundbreaking research into the causes and treatments of childhood illnesses, and provide invaluable support for parents, including accommodation within minutes walk of the hospital, to ensure that our children and their families receive the very best level of care possible.
