My story

The Stephen Lawrence Trust needs your help now more than ever to support youths from minority backgrounds

The TUC have consistently supported this campaign and Stephens legacy through the fight to tackle institutional racism in the workplace, and in wider society.

Through the work of The Stephen Lawrence Centre the Trust supports young people from disadvantaged backgrounds enter the professional world by offering mentoring and bursaries.

The work of the Trust is threatened by the lack of funds for voluntary organisations that has resulted from public spending cuts and the recession. Now more than ever, the Stephen Lawrence Trust that supports young people and combats social injustice, by promoting equality of opportunity must not be allowed to fail for lack of funding.

The TUC is therefore calling on trade unions and trade unionists to help protect the legacy of Stephen Lawrence by giving generously to the fund raising appeal to ensure that the vital work of the Trust continues and that Stephen’s legacy lives on.
