Marathon Challenge for MACS

Fundraising for Microphthalmia, Anophthalmia & Coloboma Support (MACS)
£1,167
raised of £1,000 target
by 63 supporters
Event: London Marathon 2024, on 21 April 2024
Participants: Tom Watson (my brother-in-law who works with and supports visually impaired children).
In 2023, 59 MACS runners raised a whopping £90,000 excluding Gift Aid. With more places in the 2024 event, we're hoping to smash the £100K mark. Good luck Team MACS!

Story

I am excited (and petrified!) to be taking on the challenge of a lifetime. I am temporarily swapping my ballet  🩰 shoes for a pair of trainers and will be aiming to plod 🏃‍♀️ my way around London for 26.2 long miles to accomplish a full marathon! I am privileged to be fundraising for MACS, a small national charity that is dedicated to supporting children that are born without eyes or with underdeveloped eyes.

MORE ABOUT THIS FANTASTIC CHARITY…..

Every year in the UK, an estimated 114 children are born with no eyes, with small eyes or underdeveloped eyes. MACS provides vital support by facilitating peer-support networks, organising events and children's activities, and funding research. MACS is here to ensure no one affected by these conditions feels alone. For more information about MACS conditions and how we provide comfort and support to people impacted by them visit www.macs.org.uk.
