Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My old Battersea girl whom I was fortunate enough to meet and rehome. Her story of abandonment is one told many times over sadly. It is through her I wanted and am working at Battersea so I could help others in similar circumstances or worse. This is why I am Taking this on because it is nothing in comparison...
This March I achieved dog-sledding through Northern Norway in aid of the place I work, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. I have been working for Battersea for nearly three years and my current role there is Veterinary Nurse. As a nurse we provide essential medical care to animals that may have been abused, neglected or just unwanted. It always astounds me that the trust an animal may still have in humans even after being cruelly treated, all the staff/volunteers at Battersea work so endlessly hard to help these animals and I hope you can find it in your heart to donate so we can continue.
I love my job and what Battersea is able to provide for each dog and cat that comes through our doors. I feel very privileged to be able to help and get to know these little characters and this is what pushed me in achieving this artic challenge as it is for them.
Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is in much need of funds. So I will be undertaking a tough physical and personal challenge involving 5 days of gruelling dog sledding - 60kms a day in -5 to -35 temperatures, in order to raise up to £3000 (minimum.) Anything you can give will be much appreciated and will go directly to the residents here at the home. Every single pound will be well spent. Just £5 will feed over 10 dogs for one day.
Although Battersea is a world renowned charity rescue home it solely is reliant/dependent on the generosity and donations of the public (YOU.) Please help us to help them.
As well as raising funds for all the lovely residence at Battersea, this is also a once in a lifetime experience for me which will really put me though my paces and I will be doing it knowing it's going to help all our dogs and cats, in a cause I truly believe in. I will also have the chance of seeing husky's in one of their natural working environments aswell as learning how to dog sled, should ever the need arise in Battersea!
So I really do need your help to help me hit my target above.
Thank you and puppy hugs
