Charity Background:

I am aiming to raise some more cash for the charity as I have seen how the raised donations have made a big difference to the homeless kids over the last 3 years.  I truly believe in the worthwhile cause of Task Brasil.

I have been working with Task Brasil over the last 3 years. In October 2007 I visited their projects in Rio de Janeiro and the jungle in the Cachoeiras de Macacu region of Brazil to work on the Task Brasil farm.  The farm is a project operated by Task Brazil where children, previously at social risk, who are committed towards their self-development, are referred from other shelters or the juvenile detention system to live at Forest House. They learn about sustainable farming techniques, develop income generating skills and participate in educational, cultural and leisure activities in the local community. They attend school and receive health care treatment.  The project is a safe haven for children aged 10 - 14 years who have lost contact with their family or are orphans. All food produced on site is organic. Fruit and vegetables produced are also supplied to Task Brasil’s other projects.

In June 2008 I took part in the 3 Peaks Challenge together with 28 colleagues from Accenture, BP and IBM from a work project .  We climbed the three highest peaks in England, Wales & Scotland within 24 hours.  It was an incredible challenge but we managed to raise over £3000 for Task Brasil.

In January 2010, I took part in the extreme race called Tough Guy together with 7 other colleagues for Accenture to raise some more money for the charity.  It was literally one of the toughest challenges I have ever encountered.

Please consider making a donation for Task Brasil online - your money will go 100% to the charity.  With your help we can give a chance to more street children who would otherwise not have had the ability to break the vicious circle of crime and poverty on the streets of Brazil.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Abandoned Street Kids of Brazil Trust - Task Brasil will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please help to support Task Brasil now!

Many thanks for your support.
