Our Aim:

Is to raise as much awarenes and money for the charity very close to our hearts which is HELP FOR HEROES.

Whats happening:

Exercise Taurus 09 is an amphibious exercise taking us around the Mediteranian, through the Suez Canal and out to the Far East to Finish up with an exercise deep in the jungles of Brunei.  On the way myself and a few other members of 4 ASSAULT SQUADRN ROYAL MARINES plan to complete 5 challenges, these are to cycle the circumference of MALTA & Gozo (110 miles), race HMS Bulwark on Concept rowing machines through the Suez (120 miles), Bench press the total weight of HMS Bulwark by as many repitions as it takes, race HMS Bulwark back through the Suez on static bikes, the Sprint up the Rock of Gibralter on Bikes on the way home (426m climb).

HMS Bulwark’s ships company dance will take place this year at The Duke of Cornwall Hotel, Plymouth on Wed 16 Dec.  There will be 2 bands, DJ, champagne and photographs on arrival, hot and cold buffet and roulette tables with prizes to be won.  All money raised from the roulette tables will go to Help for Heroes and BLESMA.  Prizes are yet to be confirmed but we are looking at meals out, spa treatments or possibly a weekend/night for two in a hotel.  For tickets please contact CSGT Hayward, Cpl Feeney or AB Rushton onboard HMS Bulwark – price £25.  Don’t miss out!
