Story
Thank you for visiting our Just Giving page -
In the Summer of 2013 nine British volunteers spent 3 months on the island of Bohol as part of a development programme with VSO and ICS (International Citizen Service). We were lucky enough to work and live alongside Filipinos, working on educational environmental projects.
As you can imagine, the horrendous news of Typhoon Haiyan, one of the strongest storms ever to make landfall, was a shock to us all. Even more so, knowing that many of our friends and families whom we stayed with have been badly affected by this disaster. The official death toll currently stands at 2,200, a figure which is tragically likely to rise. It has been reported that 11 million people have been affected by this natural disaster, many of whom are are in need of vital goods and services.
Over the next few weeks we aim to be doing everything we can to raise money to help the people of the Philippines through this difficult time. We urge you to please give what you can.
We shall be updating this page with our fundraising activities, but in the mean time you're welcome to visit our Twitter page to see how it's going: https://twitter.com/boholcycle3
