We provide free high quality care & support to people who are terminally ill.

Story

On Sunday 20th June 2010 we completed our challenge of cycling from HMS Victory, Portsmouth to Police Headquarters, Exeter in aid of the charity Hospiscare. We did this in memory of our friend and colleague Chris Macbean who we lost in May 2009 after a long, brave fight against cancer.

Chris was one of life’s true gentlemen and one of the most helpful and understanding people you could ever meet. Even in the toughest times he maintained his sense of humour, selflessness and positivity. To learn more about Chris please see our website www.cycleforchrismac.co.uk

We completed the 150 mile journey (which turned out to be 164 miles) in less than 24 hours. This would not have been possible without the help and commitment of our support team Les Dermott & Dave Owen and we owe a debt of gratitude to them.

We would like to thank all of our corporate sponsors Certini cycles, Callington cycles, Ginsters, The Royal Maritime Club & in particular Tonkins who not only supplied the support van but also marked the vehicle so fantastically as you will see from the pictures.

A special thanks also to Rachael (my wife and head of transport to Portsmouth) as well as Andy Caff and Julita Neale for organising things at Headquarters. And finally to the members of Chris's family who attended on the monday after travelling from all over England to welcome us in at Exeter

Thank you again to all who sponsored us enabling us to smash our target of £1200 :-)

Next year who knows....John o groats to Lands end anyone
